We are looking for a competent, collaborative and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our team at the David Scott School in Frankston. This is a 12 month maximum term full-time position commencing Term 1 2025.
Working with a team which includes wellbeing, learning support and careers and pathways the classroom teacher at David Scott School is well supported to deliver high quality education in either the Vocational Pathways Certificate or The Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major. This is a fantastic chance to make a real impact on young individuals who have faced significant disruptions in their education.
THE ROLE
The David Scott School employs teachers who value collaboration, team teaching and who have experience working in flexible learning environments. They will be committed team members who provide an engaging, differentiated program using 21st Century Pedagogy. As a critical member of the Teaching and Learning team, the Classroom Teacher will be a highly skilled education practitioner with demonstrated experience in the delivery of best practice teaching, learning assessment and classroom management. This full-time position teaching allotment and requires full VIT registration.
Join our dedicated team of professionals at the David Scott School, where we work collaboratively with Wellbeing, Learning Support, along with Careers and Pathways professionals in each of our classrooms to support students success. As part of this role, you'll have reduced class sizes and can focus predominantly on one group of students across various educational domains. This allows for individualized curriculum development and tailored student support.
Our educational model is supported by the latest research including the importance of consitent instructional model, and allowing time for administration, whole school and team collaboration, targeted Professional Development and self-care.

Salary will be in the range of $78,021 - $115,737 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

In 2017, the Brotherhood of St Laurence established the David Scott School, based on work which had been undertaken in delivering Community Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) at the Brotherhood’s Frankston High St Centre.

The School also provides career pathways support as well as integrated well-being support for students facing barriers and challenges (family issues, substance abuse, health, housing, financial issues) to completing their education.
The School provides a best-practice model of learning and support that can be replicated elsewhere, and can influence policy in the area of flexible learning provision to re-engage young people in learning.
The School is an initiative of the Brotherhood of St Laurence, and sits within the organisational structure of the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
This senior secondary specialist education program is taught in a friendly and personalised learning environment and our connection with our young people does not end when they graduate. We continue to support them to ensure a successful transition to further education, training or employment.
