Job Description

Balcombe Grammar School is an independent co-educational Foundation to Year 12 school located in Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula.

We are seeking an experienced strings teacher to provide instrumental lessons to students in both the Primary and Secondary School for a Term 1, 2025 start.

The role involves teaching individual and shared lessons, assisting with ensembles and attending various school events throughout the year. The current time-fraction is one (1) day per week with the anticipation of growth moving forward (teaching day is flexible).

The successful candidate should:

  • Demonstrate success in developing and retaining instrumental students
  • Demonstrate success in teaching individual and shared lessons with experience across all year levels including VCE
  • Be willing to work in conjunction with our Head of Music and Instrumental Music Coordinator to promote continual growth of our Instrumental Music Program
  • Be familiar with working within a Primary and Secondary school environment
  • Attend School Soirees and other music related events as required
  • Hold suitable tertiary qualifications in music or education and either be VIT registered or hold a current Working With Children Check
