Co-Director of Operations - Blairholme ELC

Lauriston Girls’ School is seeking a passionate and experienced early childhood leader to join our Blairholme Early Learning Centre as Co-Director of Operations. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the educational direction, culture, and daily operations of a centre that reflects Lauriston’s long-standing commitment to excellence, innovation, and child-centred learning.

About the Role

  • Full-time, ongoing position

Alongside the Co-Directors of Curriculum and Community – Blairholme ELC, the Co-Director of Operations will be responsible for the effective management of Blairholme Early Learning Centre, ensuring the highest standards in educational quality, staff leadership, compliance, and wellbeing. This role assumes responsibility for educational outcomes and the day-to-day running of the Centre. You will create an environment where children are empowered to explore, collaborate, and express their understanding through a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide educational and operational leadership aligned with Lauriston’s strategic vision.
  • Build a culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support and mentor educators and co-educators in child-centred practice.
  • Oversee compliance with the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and relevant legislation.
  • Foster positive relationships with families, staff, and the broader Lauriston community.
  • Promote a culture of child safety and wellbeing in line with the School’s values and obligations.

About You

You are an inspiring and organised educational leader who thrives on fostering high-quality practice in early learning settings. You will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven leadership experience within an early childhood or school-based early learning environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework, and Reggio Emilia philosophy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to Lauriston’s values of Relationships, Courage, Creativity, Intellectual Curiosity, and Engagement in Life.
