Job Description

About The Role

The Business and Data Analyst role will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the school’s regular financial, performance and operational reports, supporting analysis and the annual budget to assist with and enhance the school Council and senior leadership’s decision making.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Develop, maintain and utilise the annual budget model and reporting templates
  • Responsible for KPI reporting and analysis
  • Assist the Director of Business and Finance Manager with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting
  • Complete ad hoc analysis including the provision of insightful commentary as required
  • Continuously improve and enhance the current reporting and analytical tools and processes and develop new ones
  • Maintain and develop appropriate documentation of key models, reporting and analytical tools and relevant procedures
  • Generate and distribute departmental financial, performance & operational reporting
  • Assist with submissions for statutory reporting
  • Assist the Finance Department as required

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Accounting / Finance Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar role
  • Commercial experience with generating financial and operational reporting
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret data to create useful information
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other analytical software tools
  • Previous experience in the independent school sector would be advantageous
  • CA/CPA qualifications desirable
