About the role

We have an opportunity for an engaging Performing Arts Administrator to provide administrative, operational and staffing support to the Performing Arts program. This position is full-time and ongoing.

The Performing Arts Administrator will work as an integral member of the Performing Arts team, led by the Head of Performing Arts. They will work on a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the School's Performing Arts program, including Instrumental and Vocal Music Tuition Programs; ensemble rehearsals and performances; and School Drama and Musical productions. They will provide support across individual tuition, classroom programs and a broad Curricular and Co-curricular program.

In addition, with the School celebrating its centenary in 2024, the Performing Arts Administrator will also have a key organizational role in assisting in the running and administering of the school's Performing Arts Centenary events.

About you

Strathcona are looking for individuals who will complement and strengthen our team. You will be friendly, well presented and highly organised.

The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to cope with simultaneous demands from staff, students and visitors. They are also the first point of contact for parents. The incumbent will have event administration experience and hold excellent data/office management skills. To be successful in this role we are looking for an individual who exhibits a learning disposition in relation to all aspects of their role, striving for continuous improvement in addition to bringing the required skills and experience.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in the Performing Arts or Music (School experience is preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Well-developed general office and administrative skills and high attention to detail and flexibility
  • Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills
  • Supportive of the values and teachings of the Christian tradition
