Job Description

Carrum Downs Campus

Permanent Full-Time Role

Commencing Semester 2, 2024

Flinders Christian Community College is a co-educational, non–denominational College with campuses located at Tyabb, Carrum Downs, and Mt. Martha offering education from K – 12.

Applications are invited for the position of Director of the Waymaker Program at our Carrum Downs Campus.

The Waymaker Program will open in January 2025 to deliver high-quality education for students who cannot attend normal school due to anxiety, depression or PTSD.  The Program is located on the Carrum Downs Campus and is intended to provide a differentiated learning program in a counter-stress environment better suited to the needs and routines of these students than a mainstream setting.  We seek to see these students grow and thrive in their social connectedness, wellbeing and learning, through belonging, believing and becoming in a way that equips them to live a full and purposeful life. Take a look at the attached learning model and learn more!

The successful candidate will be a caring and passionate teacher and educational leader with a strong understanding of (and commitment to) Christian education. You will be skilled and experienced in trauma-informed teaching and understand the needs of early Secondary School students in various stages of personal recovery from Anxiety and/or Depression and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Waymaker Program Director will lead the Program and its staff in a manner that provides participating students with learning opportunities and experiences in a safe and caring environment that will align with the Program’s objectives, the College vision, mission, values and the Flinders Learning and Teaching Framework.

If this sounds like your next career move, we would love to hear from you.  We will be screening and interviewing applicants as they come through, so we encourage you to apply today.
