Job Description

We are seeking a caring and highly organised person to work as House Manager for one of our Boarding Houses. Commencing immediately, the Boarding House Manager is a full time, residential presence in the House, working from Sunday evening through to Friday evening and reports to the Head of the Boarding House.

On a daily basis, the Boarding House Manager is required to work closely with cleaning staff, boarding staff and students to ensure that all necessary cleaning, housekeeping and routine student matters are attended to, and the presentation of the boarding house is maintained to a high standard.  The Manager provides care and guidance to the boys, and acts as an adult listener, confidante and supervisor.

The successful applicant will have:

  • The ability to supervise and meet the pastoral and welfare needs of adolescent boys
  • An understanding of the dynamics and operations of a Boarding School
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to coordinate housekeeping duties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Cooking for the provision of suppers and basic sewing skills
  • The ability to work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated initiative and judgement 
  • Level 2 First Aid
  • Victorian Drivers Licence and WWCC (Employee)
  • Relevant qualifications/experience
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
  • Current Employee Working with Children check or VIT
