The Y Community School is established to respond to the needs of young people who are disengaged or at significant risk of disengaging from mainstream education. We recognise the importance of providing the right learning environment to improve social, educational and employment outcomes for young people, in particular, those who have experienced challenges effectively engaging in education or training. Built on the pillars of wellbeing, academic growth, and vocational opportunity, the Y program is founded on evidence, experience, and insights from our network of Y vocational schools nationwide.
Established in 2024, our senior campus in Epping provides a safe, inclusive space where students in years 10-12 can thrive. And we're growing, with our junior campus for year 7-9 students opening in 2027.
We also recognise that our impact is driven by our wonderful team of teachers, well-being and administrative staff, and we're committed to supporting them through smaller class-sizes, career development and prioritising staff well-being.
