About the role
The Visual Arts program at Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School offers students a broad and enriching range of creative experiences across diverse media, fostering imagination, creativity, and artistic appreciation.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Visual Arts Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis, term time only.
The Visual Arts Assistant supports the effective operation of the Visual Arts Department by ordering materials for students and staff, maintaining storerooms, managing the equipment borrowing register, and preparing class sets of resources. The role includes providing technical assistance during lessons, responding to telephone enquiries, taking minutes at faculty meetings, and displaying student artwork. Responsibilities also involve loading, firing, and unloading both electric and gas kilns, as well as ensuring that stock, equipment, and learning spaces are well maintained. This is a hands-on, physically active position that contributes to a collaborative, high-performing team culture, working closely with colleagues within the Faculty and across the School.
In addition, all staff are required to participate in the wellbeing program of the School, to take rostered grounds duty and to participate actively in the wider co-curricular program of the School.
