The School
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 3000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 across campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Keilor East, sports grounds at Keilor Park and an Outdoor Education camp at Eildon. We have a rigourous academic program and an extensive co-curricular program to support student learning, care and wellbeing.

The Role
Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and caring Learning Assistant to join our school community. Working closely with teachers, you will support the learning and wellbeing of students through a mix of classroom-based assistance, small‑group work and individual support.
While this role is primarily based at the Junior School Boys campus (Prep to Year 6) in Essendon, Learning Assistants may also be required to support lower-level Secondary students (Years 7–9) at the Keilor East campus as needed. This offers a valuable opportunity to work across a variety of age groups, broadening your experience with both primary and early secondary learners.
We are seeking someone who is flexible, adaptable and open to working across campuses with reasonable notice, and who enjoys contributing to a dynamic and collaborative school environment.
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term replacement position for the 2026 school year, commencing as soon as possible. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.06pm.
A Learning Assistant will, under the guidance and supervision of the teacher, assist in the running of classes as directed. This may include:
You will be suitably experienced and qualified (eg, Certificate III or higher), and have excellent communication skills. The School is committed to child safety, and applicants must be willing to provide a valid Working With Children Check and be eligible to work in Australia.
