Science Teacher

Job Description

FTE:  0.4FTE

Contract Duration: Term 2, 2026 (20 April – 26 June 2026)

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced teacher for a part-time position teaching Science to our exceptional Year 7 and Year 9 students during Term 2, 2026.  The successful applicant will be a passionate educator who inspires curiosity, fosters academic buoyancy, and creates engaging learning experiences in the classroom. Additional opportunities for casual relief teaching may also be available for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • VIT registration;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications;
  • Current and broad knowledge of curriculum and effective pedagogy in their subject area, and which aligns with the Australian curriculum;
  • Current knowledge of educational trends and schooling practices as they pertain to the role; and
  • Current knowledge of learning technologies in relation to the role and the delivery of the curriculum.

Fintona teachers seek out and implement new ideas and practices to enliven our students’ learning journey and provide meaningful pastoral care. Our teachers are integral to student wellbeing and safety and embed themselves in the ethos and life of the School.

Our Senior Campus teachers, Year 5 to 12, may have responsibility for a Tutor Group, with all teachers attending excursions, and those who teach Years 1 to 12 engaging in our camps (outdoor and adventure) program.
