About the Role 

An exciting opportunity awaits an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join our vibrant School community for Term 2, 2026. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for one term only, offering the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

In this key role, reporting to the Head of English, the successful candidate will inspire students' love for English through engaging, analytical, and inquiry-based lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and a deep appreciation of literature and language.

To be successful in this opportunity you will require: 

  • Current VIT Registration.
  • Previous experience teaching English across Years 7 – 12.
  • VCE experience highly desirable.
  • A current knowledge of Australian Curriculum imperatives as they impact on English.
  • Knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and willingness to embrace the St Catherine’s Teaching for Thinking culture.
  • Well-developed classroom management strategies which enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • An active supporter of and contributor to a collegial work environment.
  • Demonstrated innovative use of ICT to enrich learning.
  • Willingness to uphold the ethos and values of the School at all times.
