An Opportunity
Luther College seeks to appoint a talented Technologies Assistant to provide practical support to the Technologies learning area of the College. The role will undertake preparatory and maintenance tasks for the Technologies subjects to enable smooth and efficient classroom experiences for our students. The Technologies learning area consists of the colleges design technologies (wood, metal, textiles), digital technologies, and food technology. This role will be focused on the wood, metal and digital technologies subjects, however from time to time will be needed to support the other subjects also.
This role is also responsible for maintaining Occupational Health and Safety standards as they relate to the technologies disciplines ensuring records are updated, policies and procedures are followed and equipment is maintained to comply with Occupational Health and Safety, Risk and Compliance standards.
This role will report to the Principal via the Head of Technologies position.
This is an ongoing, full time, term time position working 40 weeks per year, however, the college is willing to consider part time, term time for the right applicant.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.15am – 4.30pm and Friday 8.15am – 4.00pm or as negotiated with the successful applicant in line with operational need.
About You
You are a capable all round Trade Persona or an aspiring Technologies enthusiast seeking the next step in your developing career. A strong communicator with great interpersonal skills, you are aware of your impact on all community members and intuitively adjust your style to meet cultural and stakeholder needs.
You will have a keen eye for the finer details, and a desire to learn through hands on experience in the role. Whilst a trade qualification is a desirable, we are open to discussing how this opportunity can fit in with your academic and professional development goals if a course is already being undertaken.
