Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. In the Pre-Preparatory Centre, our focus is on knowing and nurturing the students during these critical formative years, providing a solid foundation for future learning. Our Pre-Prep program delivers an innovative, cohesive and play-based curriculum that reflects an understanding of how boys learn.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate, collaborative and innovative Pre-Prep Co-Educator to join our Junior School, within our Pre-Preparatory Centre.

This role involves working with our Pre-Preparatory class, comprising one full-time class of 4 year-old boys who attend from 8.40am – 3.00pm. The candidate will be working in a team consisting of a full-time Educational Leader and Teacher, and a full-time Co-Educator.

This is a part time (FTE 0.6), term time, permanent position, with the hours worked across Monday to Friday (9.30am – 2.04pm), commencing as soon as possible, in a progressive, supportive and well-resourced educational environment.

ABOUT YOU

You are an outstanding early learning educator who can lead by example, model exceptional practice and support the Pre-Prep Educational Leader of the service. You are able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a play-based pedagogy and best teaching practices. A genuine passion for meeting the educational needs of young boys and a willingness to engage in on-going professional development is also required.

  • Ability and willingness to contribute to planning, share ideas, and facilitate activities with small groups of children.
  • Experience in fostering a dynamic learning community and committed to the development of the whole person.
  • A working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent as approved by ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority)
  • Current VIT registration / Working with Children Check
  • National Child Safety Training (to be completed within 14 days of commencement)
  • Protecting Children – Mandatory Reporting training
  • National Crime Check
  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis training certification
