The Role:
The Junior School Learning Development Teacher plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs through targeted intervention, case management, and collaborative planning. Working closely with classroom teachers, families, and Educational Support Coaches, this role helps foster inclusive learning environments and ensures students are supported to achieve positive educational outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and student-centred educator to contribute to a highly collaborative and supportive Junior School environment.
This is a fixed-term, full-time contract for Term 3, 2026, based at our Junior School Kew Campus.

The Average Day:
- Provide targeted one-on-one and small group intervention support to students, helping them build confidence, engagement and independence in their learning.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, wellbeing staff, families and external specialists to support students with diverse learning needs and ensure effective strategies are implemented.
- Conduct assessments, interpret specialist reports and maintain accurate student records to help identify learning needs and inform tailored support plans.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing, achievement and a strong sense of belonging.
- Work as part of the Junior School Learning Development team to evaluate programs, attend team meetings and stay informed on current best practice in learning intervention and support.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with diverse learning needs through evidence-based intervention strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers and external professionals.
- Experience interpreting assessment data and specialist reports to develop and implement effective learning support strategies.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach, with a commitment to student wellbeing, professional growth and continuous improvement in learning support practices.
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
