The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and relational Primary Teacher to join our Primary School team on a fixed-term contract term 4 providing a parental leave replacement.

The initial appointment is anticipated to be for one term however, the duration of the contract may be extended depending on the duration of the parental leave and the operational requirements of the College. The anticipated commencement and completion dates are therefore subject to change.

This is an opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative teaching team and contribute to the learning, wellbeing and development of our Primary students during the contract period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, purposeful and differentiated learning experiences for Primary students.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, wellbeing and high expectations.
  • Develop strong and respectful relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Monitor and assess student learning and use assessment data to inform teaching practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing.
  • Contribute positively to the broader life of the College and its Christian community.
  • Uphold the College's policies, values and commitment to child safety.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A genuine and active commitment to the Christian faith and the mission and values of Plenty Valley Christian College.
  • Appropriate teaching qualifications and current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration, or eligibility for registration.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and effective Primary teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion and high expectations.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team.
  • A reflective and growth-oriented approach to teaching practice.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, respectful and nurturing learning environment for every student.

All applicants must be aware that this role involves child-connected work and is subject to child safety legislation, including Ministerial Order 1359 and the Child Safe Standards.
The successful applicant will be required to:
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration prior to commencement
  • Undergo a National Police Records Check
  • Provide references that address their suitability to work with children
  • Adhere to the school’s Child Safety and Wellbeing policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct at all times.
