Kindergarten Teacher - 3 Year Old

Mount Evelyn Christian School is seeking a passionate three-year-old Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. This is an ongoing position (0.49 FTE), commencing 20 January 2027. Days of work are Monday and Tuesday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, with some additional flexible planning time. Please note that these days of work may be subject to change in future in response to the operational, staffing or enrolment needs of the Kindergarten.

We're looking for an educator who will wholeheartedly join our team in delivering a distinctively biblical approach to education, within a warm and collaborative kindergarten community.

Key selection criteria

  • Dedicated and professional early childhood educator seeking to deliver rich learning experiences
  • Proven capacity to build warm, authentic and trusting relationships with children and their families
  • Is able to articulate a Christian perspective for learning and shapes curriculum and pedagogy accordingly.
  • A creative, innovative approach to teaching and learning
  • Creates rich, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences through play, exploration and intentional teaching
  • Works collaboratively and positively with colleagues and the wider Kindergarten team
  • Has a sound understanding of early childhood development and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
  • Has a sound understanding of the Child Safe Standards and their application to an early childhood setting and holds required child safe training certificates
  • Early Childhood VIT registration to teach
  • Be in agreement with, and actively commit to, the Christian ethos and Core Values as expressed in the MECS ‘Focus on Identity’ document
  • Be able to prioritise, problem solve, demonstrate initiative and utilise common sense
  • Be committed to professional learning and ongoing development as an educator
