Job Description
- Teaching and Planning:
- Designing, implementing, and regularly updating a comprehensive Health and Physical Education curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum for students in Prep to Year 6.
- Conducting engaging and age-appropriate health and physical education classes that focus on skill development, sportsmanship and fitness.
- Assessing students’ progress and providing constructive feedback to support their growth, while ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum standards and our Christian values.
- Organising and supervising sports activities and events, with an emphasis on character development and spiritual growth.
- Planning and teaching Health lessons that include social-emotional learning to promote students’ overall wellbeing and character development.
- Biblical Perspective:
- Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into the curriculum to foster spiritual and moral development among students.
- Upholding College Values:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the values and ethos of Oxley Christian College, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a well organised and positive classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the broader school community to support the holistic development of students.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Health and Physical Education, Primary Education, or a related field (with teaching qualifications).
- Current teaching certification and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Experience in teaching primary school students, preferably in an Australian Curriculum based setting.
- Ability to teach from a Biblical perspective and integrate Christian values into teaching practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
