Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. We aim to give every student in our care the very best education in order to prepare them for life beyond school. In Junior School, our focus is on knowing and nurturing the students during these critical formative years, providing a solid foundation for future learning.  From Preparatory to Year 5, teachers deliver an innovative, cohesive and sequential curriculum that reflects an understanding of how boys learn.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate, collaborative and innovative primary educator for an ongoing teaching role in our Junior School from the beginning of Term 1, 2027.  This is a full-time ongoing position in a progressive, supportive and well-resourced educational environment.

ABOUT YOU

You are an outstanding primary educator who leads by example and models exceptional teaching practice. You will demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum, contemporary approaches to teaching and learning, and effective pedagogical practices.

You will have a strong understanding of best practice in literacy, numeracy and inquiry learning, together with the ability to integrate digital technologies meaningfully into teaching and learning. A genuine passion for meeting the diverse educational, developmental and wellbeing needs of primary-aged students is essential, as is a commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

You will also have:

• Relevant primary teaching qualifications.
• Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Demonstrated ability to primary school students to achieve academic, social and personal outcomes.
• The capacity to plan and deliver engaging, purposeful and differentiated learning experiences across the primary curriculum.
• A strong understanding of contemporary primary teaching and learning practices, including literacy and numeracy development.
• An understanding of the developmental needs of primary-aged students and the ability to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
• Strong planning, organisational and classroom management skills, together with the adaptability to respond effectively to the changing needs of students.
• A willingness to contribute to pastoral, academic and co-curricular programs, supporting the development of the whole person and a rich and dynamic Junior School community.
• Alignment with our values and a genuine desire to contribute to a collaborative, sustainable and welcoming school community.
• Current Anaphylaxis training certification.

• Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities or other specific challenges.

Modelling Ethical Conduct:

• Exhibit professional behaviour that aligns with the school’s values and child safety standards.
• Lead by example to foster a culture of trust, respect, and accountability.
