Integration Aide - Senior School

Job Description

ELTHAM College is seeking a caring, skilled and collaborative Integration Aide to join our Learning Support Team in our Senior School on a full-time, fixed-term basis through to the end of Semester 1, 2027.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in supporting students with disability and additional learning needs to participate fully and confidently in their education. Working alongside classroom teachers and the broader Learning Support Team, you will provide practical, individualised and in-class support to help students access the curriculum and engage positively in school life.

About the role

As an Integration Aide, you will work closely with teachers and the Learning Support Team to support students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality in-class support to students and assisting teachers with curriculum modification and delivery.
  • Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, communication, social skills and classroom participation.
  • Providing individual support where required, including 1:1 assistance.
  • Preparing learning and support materials, including using ICT to support student learning.
  • Supporting the collection of evidence and data for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
  • Supporting students during NAPLAN, assessments and examinations in accordance with approved provisions.
  • Providing supervision and support to promote student safety and wellbeing.
  • Accompanying students on excursions and other school activities where required.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, Learning Support staff and other members of the College community.
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality when working with students, staff and families.

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment.

You will bring:

  • A Certificate III in Education Support, Certificate III in Education (Teacher Aide/Assistant), or an equivalent approved qualification
  • Experience supporting students with specific learning needs, disability and/or diverse backgrounds in an educational environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, including excellent handwriting and typing skills.
  • The ability to work independently and confidently across a range of subject areas.
  • Confidence using technology to support student learning.
  • Flexibility and the ability to respond positively to changing timetables and student needs.
  • A calm, caring and respectful approach to supporting diversity and inclusion.
  • An understanding of child safe practices and reporting requirements.
  • A willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
