Melbourne Grammar School is seeking an inspirational leader to join us as Director of Library Services, based at our South Yarra campus. This is a permanent, full-time position, with the Director of Library Services role offered with a 5-year tenure, as a position of responsibility.

The Director of Library Services holds whole school responsibility for the strategic leadership, development and effective operation of library services, ensuring that the School’s libraries function as vibrant learning commons that actively advance teaching, learning, research, scholarship and reading culture. This role provides leadership in information literacy, research skills, literature education and the ethical and effective use of digital information resources in a contemporary educational environment.
 

You will be responsible for:

• Providing whole‑school strategic leadership for Library Services, positioning the libraries as vibrant learning commons that actively support teaching, learning, research and reading culture.
• Leading and developing high‑performing library teams across multiple campuses, fostering a collaborative, innovative and professional culture.
• Partnering with teachers and curriculum leaders to deliver integrated information literacy, research skills and literature programs across all year levels.
• Overseeing the development and management of inclusive, high‑quality print and digital collections that support curriculum, scholarship and recreational reading.
• Providing strategic oversight of library systems, digital platforms and emerging technologies to enhance access to information and student engagement.
• Managing library operations, budgets, policies and learning spaces to ensure consistent, high‑quality services and safe, welcoming environments for students and staff.

This role is based at the School’s South Yarra campus and holds whole‑school responsibility for Library Services across Melbourne Grammar School, including Grimwade House (Prep–Year 6).

We welcome around 1800 students to our school each day.  Our coeducational primary school, Grimwade House, is located in Caulfield. Our boys only middle and senior schools are co-located in South Yarra. where our Senior School welcome around 850 boys in Years 9 – 12 each day and our Wadhurst campus, comprises 400 boys in Years 7 and 8 where they make the transition from primary to secondary education in an environment designed with their needs in mind.
