Job Description

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Science Teacher to join our Science team. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching science to Years 7 – 10 and will seek out innovative strategies to ignite curiosity within their classroom. This is an exciting opportunity for a science teacher seeking to broaden their experience and to further develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

This is a full time, fixed-term opportunity for the duration of Term 2, 2026 covering a period of leave. This role will commence in Term 2, 2026.

The role:

  • Teach science to Year 7 – 10, while fostering a classroom environment rooted in curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry
  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning so that every student is challenged, makes progress and thrives in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Commit to knowing students well, ensuring that learning is personalised so students can take their own next step in their learning progress
  • Continuously seek out innovation, trying new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom, whilst contributing to a culture of experimentation
  • Skilfully integrate learning technology into practice, selecting the most appropriate tools to enhance the learning experience

What do I need to succeed?

  • Teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching science across the middle school years
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for creativity and innovation in teaching
  • A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
