About the Library Technician role:
This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality library resources and creating a welcoming, dynamic environment that encourages students and staff to engage with our programs and spaces. Graduating and early career Library Technicians are encouraged to apply.
This is an ongoing part-time role, working three days per week on the following roster:
Monday: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Tuesday: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Wednesday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
Administering and managing the Library Management System and its online interface
Cataloguing print and digital collections
Assisting with management of collections including tagging, covering, repairing, shelving, stocktake and weeding
Circulation Desk duties including attending to loans, reservations, records and queries
Preparation of physical and virtual displays
General administrative tasks – View the Position Description for details about the role.
About You:
Excellent ICT skills
Warm and approachable manner
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
High attention to detail and ability to process significant volumes of work
Readiness to learn new skills and be mentored
A valid employee working with children check.
