We seek to appoint an organised, creative and highly skilled Publications Coordinator to join our Marketing, Enrolment and Communications team within the Community Engagement Department, based at our Corio campus, on a part-time basis (0.6 FTE).

About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced publications and communications professional to manage the production of the School’s printed publications while delivering exceptional copywriting and editorial oversight. This role combines strong project coordination skills with content creation, playing a key role in shaping and maintaining the School’s voice across a diverse range of publications.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Community Engagement, the Publications Coordinator oversees editorial planning, content development and delivery of key School publications, ensuring consistency in tone, style and messaging that supports the School’s strategic objectives and strengthens engagement with key audiences.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Planning and coordinating the annual publications schedule, ensuring the timely delivery of printed publications
  • Researching, writing and editing engaging content for School publications including Light Blue magazine, campus handbooks, The Corian yearbook and reports such as the Impact of Giving
  • Providing high‑level editorial oversight, including proofreading, fact‑checking and ensuring alignment with the School’s style guide and messaging
  • Collaborating closely with in‑house graphic designers to review layouts and ensure visual presentation complements written content
  • Coordinating photography and multimedia content for use across publications and digital platforms
  • Supporting digital innovation by exploring new or improved communication channels and content solutions
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers such as printers, photographers and designers

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Media, Publishing, PR/Marketing or a related discipline
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, supported by a strong portfolio of work across print and digital channels
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex publication schedules and delivering high‑quality outputs to deadline
  • Strong attention to detail and editorial judgement, with the ability to maintain quality and consistency across multiple formats
  • Well‑developed interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with experience working collaboratively across teams
  • An interest in emerging communication technologies and contemporary content practices
  • A Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employment) and National Police Check
  • Experience working in a school or higher‑education environment, and/or crafting impact stories and donor‑focused content, will be highly regarded.
