Education Support Assistants

About the Role
We’re looking for committed and compassionate Education Support Assistants to join our team to provide support to students in Years 7–11 with a range of learning needs. Working collaboratively with both students and their teachers, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, differentiated and engaging learning activities that help students to access the curriculum and achieve effective learning outcomes.
Key details:

  • Opportunities available for a permanent and a fixed term contract
  • Monday-Friday, 8.20am – 3.20pm, term time only
  • Provide classroom and individual assistance to students with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy skills

About You
The successful applicant/s will have:

  • Outstanding communication and relationship skills, marked by integrity and compassion
  • Deep interest in and ability to relate to children and young people
  • Passion to assist and improve the social, emotional and intellectual development of students
  • Solid understanding of disabilities, including ASD, ADHD and dyslexia, and the impact these have on learning
  • Ability to work effectively with students who have complex needs
  • Experience working in a secondary school classroom setting
  • Emotional maturity
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong IT skills across range of platforms, including MS Office
  • Commitment to professional development and feedback
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
  • Current VIT / WWCC (Employee)
