Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School is an Anglican day school strongly committed to single sex education for girls. Catering for students from Early Learning Centre (Three Year Old) to Year 12, Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School seeks to provide excellence in education within a caring Christian community and to prepare young women for a personally and professionally fulfilling life.

About the role

The Learning Assistant will work in our Junior School under the direction of the Head of Junior School and Classroom Teacher to maximise learning outcomes for students who need adjustments and/or interventions to their learning program.  The Learning Assistant will work as a positive team member and promote and provide an environment of warmth, trust, respect, and professionalism with students, families and colleagues.

This is a full-time fixed term position for Term 3 to cover a staff member on leave.

What you bring

  • Post secondary qualification in special education and experience in classroom education support
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive, stimulating and inviting learning environment for students
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide support to families, students and colleagues
  • Capacity to operate with discretion, respect and trust
  • Knowledge and experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum
  • ICT competencies
