The Role:
Carey is seeking experienced and professional Casual Relief Teachers (CRTs) with Science and Mathematics teaching methods to join our Secondary School team, commencing from Term 3, Monday 21 July 2026.
CRTs provide high-quality teaching and supervision in the absence of classroom teachers, ensuring continuity of learning and supporting the wellbeing, development and engagement of students. Working within a collaborative and nurturing environment, CRTs uphold Carey’s values, policies and expectations while creating safe, inclusive and positive learning experiences for all students.
We are particularly seeking reliable and flexible educators who are available to be contacted between 6:00–6:45 am for same-day relief teaching opportunities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver planned learning activities and maintain continuity of learning in the absence of the classroom teacher.
- Create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports student participation and wellbeing.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Maintain effective classroom management and uphold school expectations and policies.
- Foster respectful and supportive relationships with students, staff and the wider school community.
- Monitor student wellbeing and communicate any concerns to relevant staff members.
- Complete attendance records, provide handover notes and undertake supervision duties as required.
- Adhere to all Child Safety, professional standards, confidentiality requirements and school procedures.
- Contribute positively to the school community and perform other duties as reasonably directed.
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
