About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Librarian to play a key role in delivering high-quality and innovative library services at Scotch College. Working collaboratively with the library, teaching and professional teams across the school, you will foster an engaging and purposeful library environment that enriches teaching and learning and encourages intellectual curiosity. You will promote reading, inquiry, research capability, digital literacy, and the ethical use of information, supporting students to navigate a complex information landscape and develop as confident, independent learners, while strengthening the library as a dynamic learning hub.

  • Full time, permanent position
  • Options for flexible start, up to January 2027

About You
The successful applicant will have:

  • Commitment to excellence and best practice in library services
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, marked by clarity and compassion
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship skills, with the ability to engage with students and colleagues
  • High level information and digital literacy skills, with in depth knowledge of library and information databases, as well as the MS Office suite
  • Excellent literary knowledge across a variety of genres and types, including contemporary young adult literature, and proven ability to facilitate and promote a love of reading
  • Exceptional research and inquiry skills and the ability to support teachers and students to access and integrate information from a range of sources
  • Demonstrated understanding of emerging technologies and how they can be harnessed to enhance student learning
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, trust and integrity
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as a librarian (ALIA accredited)
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing
  • Current VIT / WWCC (Employee)
