Job Description

  • Part-time (0.6 FTE flexible) until end of year with possible ongoing opportunity - immediate commencement available

While English teaching is a key component of the role, we are particularly interested in educators with strong expertise in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

The opportunity

As a valued member of the Senior School, you will:

  • Teach English across Years 7–12, including EAL classes

  • Create engaging, challenging and inclusive learning environments that support student growth and achievement

  • Develop and deliver contemporary, evidence-informed teaching programs

  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback to students

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum, pedagogy and student outcomes

  • Contribute positively to student wellbeing programs and pastoral care initiatives

  • Participate actively in the broader life of the School, including co-curricular activities, events and professional learning opportunities

About you

You bring:

  • Experience teaching Secondary English and EAL (or providing EAL support programs)

  • A sound understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices

  • A commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing professional team

  • A growth mindset and commitment to ongoing professional learning

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
