Job Description

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2026.

The Narre Warren South Campus is seeking a full-time experienced and inspiring educator to lead our English faculty. As Head of English, you will oversee curriculum development, support staff, and foster a culture that inspires a love of language, literature and learning while equipping students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage thoughtfully with the world.

Commencing in 2027, you’ll join a community of educators who are learners themselves, committed to professional growth, collaborative practice, and the shared calling of preparing young people to live out their faith and learning for the sake of others.

The successful applicant must:

  • Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Be qualified and able to teach English
  • Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
  • Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
