We welcome applications from experienced and skilled saxophone instructors to join our thriving co-curricular music program from Term 4, 2026.
You will join a highly motivated, collaborative and supportive Music team. This is an ongoing position, currently at 5 hours per week with the potential to increase the instrumental load over time. Tuesday is the preferred working day; however, Monday or Wednesday will be considered.
Key aspects of the role:
Plan and deliver high quality saxophone instruction to students across a range of year levels and abilities
Prepare students for performances at key school events
Prepare students for AMEB examinations
Manage administrative tasks including maintaining accurate records of student attendance, performances and progress
Contribute to and participate in the overall musical life of the school, and assist where required with the planning and conduct of music within the school community
Assist and contribute to the planning of public performances, workshops and camps
Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students and parents
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BMus) or equivalent
Current Working with Children Check (VIT registration preferred)
Current level 2 First Aid, CPR Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or willingness to undertake training
Capacity to direct ensembles
Experience with the AMEB curriculum and facilitating external examinations
Capacity and confidence to tutor across a range of musical styles
Ability to teach flue (desirable).
