About the Role

We are seeking a creative and engaging Social Media & Communications Coordinator to join Preshil in a part-time capacity (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week). 

This is a hands-on role for someone who has an eye for design, a sense for storytelling and the curiosity to seek out and capture the people, learning and experiences that make Preshil different.

Working closely with the Marketing, Community Engagement & Advancement Manager, you will immerse yourself in school life, building connections with staff, engaging with students, attending events and actively finding the stories that bring Preshil to life.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • planning, creating, scheduling and publishing engaging organic social media content.

  • capturing photographs and short-form video content across classrooms, events, performances and school activities.

  • sourcing and shaping stories and content from across the School.

  • coordinating the weekly school newsletter, including copywriting and editing staff submissions, preparing photographs and publishing through Craft CMS.

  • maintaining and updating website content using Craft CMS.

  • creating invitations, posters and other promotional materials using established Canva brand templates.

  • supporting the digital promotion of school events, programs and achievements.

  • maintaining content calendars, photographs and digital assets; and

  • ensuring content reflects Preshil's distinctive voice, values and brand.

About You

You will bring:

  • a relevant qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Media, Journalism or a related discipline.

  • demonstrated experience in social media, digital communications and content creation.

  • excellent copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to turn ideas and information into engaging stories.

  • a strong eye for design, photography and visual storytelling.

  • confidence capturing photographs and short-form video content.

  • experience using Canva and photo/video editing tools.

  • experience using Craft CMS or a similar content management system.

  • a strong understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.

  • initiative, curiosity and the confidence to actively seek out stories and content.

  • strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • a warm, collaborative approach and the ability to build relationships across a school community; and

  • alignment with Preshil's values and progressive educational philosophy.
