ABOUT US
Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. We aim to give every student in our care the very best education in order to prepare them for life beyond school. We are a learning community, which encourages staff, students, past students and parents to involve themselves fully in all aspects of school life and to identify themselves with its values: Learning, Respect, Integrity, Courage and Optimism. We are proud of the warm spirit and sense of community that characterises our school family.
Our school campus is located in the leafy inner east suburb of Canterbury, on land originally inhabited by the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and blends period architecture with exciting contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Careers Practitioner to support students across their career exploration, pathway planning and decision-making.
Working with students, families and staff across the Middle and Senior School years, you will provide individual careers counselling and guidance, coordinate careers education initiatives, and provide advice on post school pathways and higher education options. You will play an important role in helping students identify their interests, strengths and aspirations and make informed decisions about their future.
You will also contribute to the development and delivery of school wide careers programs and activities, working collaboratively with staff and key stakeholders to ensure our students have access to relevant, engaging and contemporary careers information and opportunities.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to students as they navigate important decisions about their future, within a progressive, supportive and well-resourced educational environment.
This is a part time (0.5 FTE), permanent position, commencing in Term 1, 2027.
The role will be based on Thursdays, with the remaining hours able to be arranged across one or more additional days, providing some flexibility for the successful candidate. The successful candidate will also need to have some flexibility to support Year 12 students during key VTAC application and offer round periods.
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced Careers Practitioner who is passionate about supporting young people to understand their strengths, explore their options and confidently plan for their future.
You will have experience working within a secondary school setting and a strong understanding of the careers and pathway considerations facing students in the Middle and Senior School years. You will be confident providing individual careers counselling, working with families and staff, and navigating the VCE, VTAC and tertiary admissions landscape.
You are an excellent communicator who builds strong rapport with students and develops positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues and families. You are organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
You will bring contemporary knowledge of post secondary pathways and a genuine commitment to supporting the development of the whole person. You will also be someone who is willing to contribute ideas, lead by example and continually look for ways to enhance the careers education experience for our students.
