Garden Educator (ELC)

Mount Scopus Memorial College is a co-educational Jewish School from Early Learning to Year 12 across three campuses; St Kilda East, Caulfield South and Burwood.

We are an independent school that runs the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and are also influenced by the work in Reggio Emilia. We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Garden Educator to lead our early learning centre’s garden and sustainability program. In this hands-on role, you will bring learning to life by guiding our early learning children through inquiry, exploration, and practical gardening experiences.  This is a (0.23) FTE part-time (8 hours per week) position to commence from Term 1, 2027 working across our two Early Learning Centres in St Kilda East and Caulfield South.  You will be required to work two days per week during school terms only with paid school holidays.

• Demonstrate a passion for as well as knowledge and understanding of gardening and of sustainability.

• Create a culture of appreciation for the environment and help students connect with nature.

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships within and beyond their team, in ways that benefit the whole learning community.

• Show commitment to each student’s physical,  social and emotional development both within and outside of their learning experiences.

• Take initiative and drive change in self and others.

• Demonstrate a commitment to our early learning centre’s learning principles.

• Have a current Working with Children Check card

• a sound understanding of the Child Safe Standards and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children.

• current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain within six months of employment
