Job Description

Position 
The Financial Accountant is responsible for undertaking a range of financial and accounting responsibilities at the College in partnership with the Finance Team to ultimately ensure the effective management and control of the College’s finances. 

The Financial Accountant reports to and takes direction from the Finance Manager and is accountable to the Director of Strategy & Business and Executive Principal.
The incumbent must have excellent organisational skills, demonstrate high communication skills and enjoy the challenge of working as part of a team. 

  • Commencing 1 June 2026 or by negotiation 
  • This is a full time ongoing position, working Monday to Friday
  • Primarily based at the Pakenham Campus 
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce is required
  • A professional accounting qualification (either CPA or CA) is required

Key Duties  

  • Maintain accurate and financial records in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate interim and final audits with the external auditors
  • Ensure that all of the College’s cost centres/business activities are regularly analysed and reviewed  
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all compliance and statutory reports
  • Remain up to date on relevant Australian Accounting Standards and legislation
  • Contribute to system development or improvement
