An exciting opportunity is available at Scotch College for a capable and motivated Trade Assistant to join our dynamic Property team.

About the Role
Working alongside skilled trades, the Trade Assistant supports a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, access and security, along with set-up and logistics for school events. This hands-on position relies on strong trade skills and practical experience and plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and safety of School property and facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is committed to safe work practices at all times.

Key details:

  • Full time, permanent position
  • Monday-Friday, 10.00am-6.00pm
  • 4 weeks annual leave plus extra paid leave benefits
  • Opportunities for rostered overtime on occasion

  • Outstanding communication and relationship skills, marked by integrity and compassion
  • Strong trade skills and the ability to work in a team and with a range of trades
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • High level competence using range of power/hand tools
  • Ability to fit and install locks and associated hardware (desirable)
  • Construction Industry White Card and EWP license (desirable)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Relevant qualifications (desirable) and trades experience (essential)
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in child safety and wellbeing (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
