Boarding House Assistants (Casual)

Job Description

Melbourne Girls Grammar is an independent school located in the heart of the city, close to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Yarra River, and within walking distance of Melbourne’s CBD. As the only private boarding school in central Melbourne, we offer a supportive, well-resourced residential environment for our students 

We are seeking warm, organised and committed individuals for casual Boarding House Assistant roles. These positions involve supervising and supporting students in Years 7–12, facilitating activities, assisting with transport, maintaining boarding spaces and completing light administrative tasks. 

About the Role: 

  • Multiple shifts are available on a casual basis. 
  • Shifts are midweek and on the weekends Friday – Sunday.  
  • Overnight stays required at the Boarding House.  
  • Meals and accommodation are provided during shifts. 
  • Must be available for last minute shifts

About you: 

  • A personable, down-to-earth nature with the ability to build strong relationships 
  • Sound judgement, maturity and confidence as a role model in a care environment 
  • An understanding of the needs and challenges facing young people 
  • A genuine interest in pastoral care and student wellbeing 
  • A strong commitment to child safety 
  • Experience working with young people (preferred) 
  • Flexible availability, including weekends 

Essential qualifications: 

  • Victorian Employee Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain), or VIT Registration; and 
  • HLTAID009 CPR and 011 Provide First Aid Certificates (or willingness to obtain).
