Secondary Teachers - Casual and Short Term Opportunities

The role

Expressions of interest are invited for engaging and innovative Casual Relief Teachers to work at the Middle Schools (Years 7-10) and Senior School (Years 11 and 12) and short term contracts during Term 3 and 4 2026 at the Senior School (Years 11 and 12) at our Keilor East Campus.

We have the following short term opportunities:

  • Year 11 Methods and General Mathematics (full-time) - 17 August to 11 September 
  • Year 11 and 12 Business Management (full-time) - 7 September to 14 October (3.6 term weeks)
  • Year 12 Legal Studies (part-time 0.75) - 24 August to 11 September

Casual Relief Teachers work collaboratively with colleagues and assist in the development and delivery of curriculum that supports student care and wellbeing and the School’s Culture of Thinking.

The successful applicants will demonstrate:

  • a passion for teaching and engaging students in learning;
  • professionalism and reliability; 
  • expertise in their relevant curriculum areas and in current pedagogical thinking;
  • a commitment to student well-being;
  • an understanding of and commitment to teaching single sex classes and co-educational classes at the senior years; and
  • support for the School’s values.

The School

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School (PEGS) has over 2900 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East. We have outstanding staff, facilities and programs to enhance student learning and develop creative, caring and critical thinkers.

Primary years are taught in single-sex classes at the Junior School (girls) in Moonee Ponds and the Junior School (boys) in Essendon.

Secondary years are taught in single-sex classes at the Middle School (girls) and Middle School (boys) sections for Years 7 to 10, and in coeducational classes at the Senior School for Years 11 and 12, and all are based at the Keilor East campus.

The school has a strong focus on a Culture of Thinking and student care and wellbeing to foster the best possible future for each student.
