Korowa Anglican Girls' School is seeking an outstanding and passionate Head of Mathematics to lead our Mathematics department from Year 7 through to VCE. As our current Head of Department moves into a new chapter within the School, an exceptional opportunity has opened for an inspiring curriculum leader to bring fresh energy and vision to one of Korowa's most celebrated departments.
As Head of Department, you will be at the centre of Korowa's curriculum vision — leading a talented team of Mathematics teachers, driving contemporary and high-quality curriculum development and ensuring every student is challenged, engaged and supported in her mathematical journey.
You will:
Lead the strategic direction, curriculum planning and continuous improvement of the Mathematics department across year 7 through to VCE
Inspire and develop a high-performing team of Mathematics teachers through mentoring, professional learning and a culture of collaboration and shared practice
Design and oversee a contemporary, relevant and rigorous Mathematics curriculum that engages every learner — from those who need support to those who are ready to be extended
Ensure consistency and quality in assessment, reporting and student progress monitoring across year levels, including VCE Units 1–4 and SAC planning
Build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues, providing clear communication and responsive support around student progress
Partner with the Deputy Principal, Head of Curriculum and fellow Heads of Department to ensure a whole-school perspective on curriculum development and student achievement
Promote Mathematics as a discipline — through Open Days, subject selection events, external links with tertiary institutions, industry and professional networks

This is a role for someone who believes deeply in what great Mathematics teaching can do for a young woman's future.
You are a talented Mathematics teacher and an experienced curriculum leader who is ready to make your mark. You bring:
Experience in a curriculum leadership position in a school setting
Deep subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Mathematics and its teaching
The ability to lead, develop and inspire a team of teachers through coaching, mentoring and a culture of professional learning
A commitment to contemporary pedagogy and evidence-based teaching practice
Strong skills in curriculum design, assessment modelling and data-informed improvement
The ability to build warm, productive relationships with students, families and colleagues
Alignment with the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers and a leadership approach characterised by courage, curiosity and integrity
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mathematics or a related field, and current VIT registration
