We are seeking a passionate and experienced Accounting Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team on a full-time basis commencing Term 1, 2027. Potential for an ongoing appointment exists for the right candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about inspiring students and fostering academic excellence. Demonstrated experienced teaching VCE Accounting, or an equivalent senior secondary Accounting course, is highly desirable, with experience teaching Economics and /or Business Management, along with Commerce, also viewed favourably.

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of delivering outstanding learning outcomes, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to engage and support students in achieving their personal best. They will demonstrate a commitment to innovative teaching practices, building positive relationships with students, and contributing to a vibrant learning community.

The role:

As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality instruction, fostering student curiosity, critical thinking and academic achievement. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the successful applicant will plan and implement effective learning programs, assess and monitor student progress, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Teach Accounting while fostering a positive and motivating classroom environment.
  • Deliver high-quality VCE Accounting teaching and learning, supporting students to develop strong conceptual understanding, technical skills and examination readiness.
  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning so that every student is challenged, makes progress, and thrives in a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Commit to knowing students well, ensuring that learning is personalised so students can take their own next step in their learning progress.
  • Use assessment data, feedback and knowledge of senior secondary assessment requirements to support student progress and achievement.
  • Continuously seek-out innovation, trying new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom and contribute to a culture of experimentation.
  • Skilfully integrate learning technologies into practice, selecting the most appropriate tools to enhance students’ understanding of accounting concepts and problem-solving skills. 
  • Fulfil a co-curricular responsibility from a range of choices within the secondary school co-curricular program.

     

What do I need to succeed?

  • Teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated experience teaching VCE Accounting, or equivalent senior secondary Accounting, with a strong understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Experience teaching Economics and/or Business across the Secondary School would be advantageous
  • VCAA examination assessor experience, or equivalent external assessment experience, would be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for creativity and innovation in teaching
  • A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
