We're growing! In January 2027, Y Community School opens its doors to a brand-new junior campus for year 7-9 students, and we want you to help us build it. As our Health and Physical Education Teacher, you'll be part of our new junior campus teaching team, delivering PE two days a week to our newest students.

What's the opportunity?

As our Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned HPE lessons to students in years 7 to 9 at our new junior campus, encouraging them to engage in sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. You'll bring our Mind Body Spirit program to life through the Victorian Curriculum, helping build healthy habits, teamwork and confidence in our students as we launch this new campus together.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE – 2 days per week), ongoing opportunity based at our junior campus in Epping, commencing Term 1 2027. There is some flexibility to negotiate the specific days, to be discussed with the successful candidate.

Relevant knowledge and skills

• Tertiary teaching qualification with a specialisation in Physical Education, or equivalent (e.g. Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Health and Physical Education, or a Bachelor of Physical Education/Human Movement/Exercise and Sport Science plus a Master of Teaching (Secondary)).
• Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Sound knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education (HPE).
•  Experience teaching or coaching young people in a school or sporting setting.
• Experience or understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting students with complex or additional needs.
•  Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess programs against the Victorian Curriculum.
• National Police Check (and International Police Check if you have lived outside Australia in the last five years).
• Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain.
