ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking reliable and motivated Duty Managers, to join our Facilities and Operations department on a casual basis.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting events, functions and activities across the school’s facilities, including the Sports Centre and Performing Arts Centre. You will help ensure venues are set up, presented and ready to go, liaise with event organisers and user groups, and make sure everything runs smoothly from set-up through to pack-down.

The role suits someone who is organised, practical and comfortable working independently. You will need to be proactive, think ahead and take pride in getting the job done well and on time.

The role also includes supporting the school’s aquatic facilities, including pool testing and maintaining water quality in accordance with health regulations, as well as providing lifeguard relief when required.

Ongoing weekday, evening and weekend availability is essential. Other weekly shifts will be by negotiation and dependent upon scheduling requirements.

These are casual roles, with an immediate commencement.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee events, functions and bookings outside normal school hours.
• Liaise with event organisers and user groups to ensure they have what they need.
• Set up and pack down venues, including moving furniture and equipment.
• Prepare facilities and equipment for upcoming events and the following day's activities.
• Ensure facilities are safe, well presented and ready for use.
• Assist with venue operations, including operating Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Support aquatic operations, including pool testing, water quality and lifeguard relief.
• Act as the on-site Chief Warden and provide First Aid when required.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and approachable, with the confidence to work independently and take responsibility for getting things done.

You will enjoy a hands-on role, be comfortable working with people and have a practical mindset. You will be able to manage competing priorities, think ahead and respond calmly when things change.

Knowledge & skills:

• A reliable and responsible approach, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with an eye for detail.
• A friendly and approachable manner, with excellent customer service skills.
• Confidence communicating with event organisers, user groups, visitors and members of the school community.
• A proactive, practical approach and the ability to anticipate what needs to be done.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and get the job done well and on time.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience with Building Management Systems and Envibe is desirable.
• Previous experience in events, hospitality, facilities, venue operations or a similar environment is desirable.
• The ability to undertake physical work, including venue set-ups, pack-downs and moving equipment.

Qualifications:

• Level 2 First Aid and CPR qualification
• Pool Lifeguard Award
• Pool Operations Certificate (desirable)
• Working with Children Check
• National Crime Check
