Careers Coordinator

FTE: Approximately 0.6FTE

Duration:  22 January - 25 June 2027

Position Information

We are seeking an enthusiastic Careers Coordinator to lead our careers and pathways program during Terms 1 and 2, 2027.  This crucial role supports students to make informed decisions about their future education, training and employment opportunities

In this part-time position, the Careers Coordinator provides career development through:

  • Career counselling and pathway planning for senior students;
  • Presentation of careers information in individual and group format;
  • Organisation of careers events and information sessions;
  • Publication and promotion of career options to students, parents and staff;
  • Participation in external industry and internal networks to enable students to gain a clearer understanding career options and avenues;
  • Coordination of Work Experience, SWL and VET programs;
  • Management of VTAC information and tertiary application support.

The successful candidate will have:

  • VIT registration;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum four-year undergraduate degree), with a Graduate Certificate in Career Development Practice, preferable;
  • Current knowledge of courses available at the various tertiary instructions and selection requirements; 
  • Current knowledge of prospects and conditions of employment in different careers areas;
  • Current knowledge of curriculum, educational trends, schooling practices and policy developments as they relate to the Careers Education sphere;
  • excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
  • a strong understanding of senior secondary and post-school pathways; and
  • a passion for helping young people make informed decisions about their futures.
